“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”
– Steve Jobs
I am an experienced designer that understands high-level requirements and translates those into beautiful and user-centered designs. I provide analytical and creative ideas about how users journey through products. I can walk the line between working with established standards and pushing the boundaries to create new and exciting user experiences. I create outstanding user interface designs while paying attention to details of the fit and finishes for the end product. See below for some of my more recent work.
SUMMARY: The Dozen Best Books site first launched over a year ago. Over that time, data was collected to better understand the user connections with books, lists, and other users. The goal was to take these findings and improve the overall user experience. We used the data collected from the site to help users complete their profiles, promote better site navigation, and encourage users to engage with other members.
MY ROLE: I worked with the team to help set priorities for the new features. I develop mobile and desktop wireframes and click-through user paths to show how the updates and new functionality would work. Through the design, I help better integrate social media, and data into the site in such a way that it encouraged user discovery of books, lists, and other users. I also updated the overall look-and-feel to enhance the user experience.

SUMMARY: Diabetes is the new signature cause for Lions Clubs International. The campaign is designed to educate Lion's members in a fun and interactive way about the disease by pointing them to materials and tools with the ultimate goal to encourage members to lead service activities.
MY ROLE: I worked with the account manager, project manager, and copywriter to develop content and design the campaign site. The site was refreshed once a month over a four-month period. The main focus for the site each month was the contest content to build awareness of the challenges of diabetes and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

MY ROLE: I work with a content strategist to improve the site's layouts and structure to better highlight key content. I created wireframes to show how the content could be better parsed out to users. I updated branding and design elements to focus on essential content and improve the overall user experience.

SUMMARY: YouTube Music Key site was to create and foster a community of passionate YouTube music fans to help shape the future of this product by using content to collect feedback and nurture community interaction, ultimately creating an army of advocates for a global launch.
MY ROLE: I designed and collaborated with project managers, social strategist, and technology vendor to help translate user’s goals into features for the community platform. For speed to launch, we were tasked to design and build on the existing vendor platform. The biggest challenge faced throughout this project was balancing prebuilt templates with the requests for including customize features. I used wireframes and high-fidelity comps to show and visualize the pros and cons of different approaches.

SUMMARY: Entrepreneur.com site launched in 1996. It has grown into one of the largest and most popular sites serving the small-business community. As a result, the site outgrew the current design. There was a ton of valuable content featured on the website, but users were not finding it due to information overload. The site needed a better balance between advertising and editorial content.
MY ROLE: I led the creative strategy and the site redesign for Entrepreneur.com. An information architect and I met with key stakeholders and users to help us understand the needs and pain-points. Together we identified risks and aligned with a possible vision for the site. We worked together to uncover user insights to guide the redesign process. Based on our research findings, I crafted the design strategy outlining our approach and direction for the site.
